The Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of police has arrested a suspected member of an inter-provincial gang involved in ATM card hacking and cash withdrawals, SIU SSP Shoaib Memon revealed on Wednesday.
Acting on intelligence, the SIU conducted a raid in Nazimabad and arrested M. Mohsin, son of Ghulam Shabbir. He is said to be linked to a gang that targets ATM machines in different areas of the metropolis to steal money.
Mohsin admitted during interrogation that he and his associates had been involved in hacking ATM cards from different banks and withdrawing cash illegally.
A 30-bore pistol was recovered from the possession of the accused.
Further investigation is ongoing to smash the criminal gang.
