ISLAMABAD:

The sub-committee of the Senate Standing Committee on National Health Services Regulations and Coordination directed the Pakistan Medical and Dentil Council (PMDC) on Wednesday to revoke the licences of the non-compliant private medical colleges.

The committee meeting which was chaired by Senator Palwasha Mohammad Zai Khan discussed the hefty fees charged by the medical colleges and the steps taken by the PMDC in this regard. The committee received complaints from students that private medical colleges are charging hefty fees.

PMDC President Dr Rizwan Taj informed the committee that the recommendations for the fee structure for the year 2024-25 had been sent to the government. The chair stated that the PMDC should take action against private medical colleges involved charging excessive fees.
