A Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) official was martyred, while two women and three children sustained injuries in two separate incident of shooting and explosions in the Mir Ali Tehsil of the North Waziristan district of K-P on Wednesday.
In the first incident, CTD official Shaminullah was martyred when masked men opened fire on him in the Mir Ali Bazaar, while he was going to the market to buy groceries. According to a police report Shaminullah, a resident of the Datta Khel area, was on duty in Miranshah.
In the second incident, according to police sources, a fierce clash broke out between terrorists and law-enforcement personnel in the villages of Harmaz and Hasokhel at midnight last night. As a result, five people - two women and three children - were seriously injured.
The sources said that the terrorists attacked various check posts in the area with small and heavy weapons.
