The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced its nominees for the December 2024 Player of the Month awards, with players from India, Australia, and South Africa dominating the shortlist.
No Pakistani cricketers were named among the contenders.
In the men’s category, Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah leads the nominees after taking 22 wickets in three Tests against Australia.
Australian captain Pat Cummins earned his spot with an all-round performance against India, scoring 144 runs and claiming 17 wickets.
South Africa’s Dean Peterson received his first nomination for his remarkable bowling against Sri Lanka.
In the women’s category, India’s Smriti Mandhana, South Africa’s Nonkululeko Mlaba, and Australia’s Annabel Sutherland were shortlisted for their standout performances during the month.
The awards aim to celebrate the best international cricket performances each month. The winners are determined through a combination of votes from the ICC panel and fans.
While the absence of Pakistani players may disappoint fans, the competition reflects strong performances from nominees across different regions. The winners will be announced later this month.
