A fugitive wanted for a murder back in 2023 in Punjab was extradited from Saudi Arabia on Tuesday after a coordinated effort involving Interpol.

The Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) National Central Bureau (NCB) arrested Rafiullah Khan and brought him to Islamabad Airport. Khan, wanted by Punjab Police, had fled Pakistan after being implicated in a murder case registered at Kalabagh Police Station, Mianwali.

Interpol had issued a red notice for the suspect following a request by Pakistani authorities. The arrest was facilitated through close cooperation between Interpol offices in Islamabad and Riyadh.

The FIA transferred Khan to Punjab Police custody shortly after his arrival in Islamabad.

“This arrest underscores the NCB’s advanced technological capabilities and its 24/7 communication network, enabling effective global coordination,” an FIA spokesperson said.

The case highlights Pakistan's efforts to bring fugitives to justice through international partnerships and advanced investigative techniques.
