Aubrey Plaza expressed pride in her husband Jeff Baena in a touching Instagram post before his passing.

Aubrey Plaza expressed admiration for her “darling husband” Jeff Baena in what appears to be her only public Instagram post with him before his sudden passing on Friday.

In May 2021, Plaza announced her marriage to the film director on social media while celebrating Baena’s work on the 2022 film “Spin Me Round.” She also included photos of the couple sharing a loving gaze on a film set.

“So proud of my darling husband @jeffbaena for dreaming up another film that take us to Italia to cause some more trouble,” she captioned the post.

Baena was discovered dead by his assistant at his home in the Los Angeles area on Friday morning. Authorities responded to a call for a death investigation around 10:30 a.m. and declared him deceased at the scene.

Law enforcement sources informed TMZ that Baena’s death was a result of suicide, a detail later confirmed through online records from the County of Los Angeles Medical Examiner’s Office, obtained by Page Six.

Baena’s family addressed his passing in a statement to *Deadline* on Saturday, describing themselves as “devastated” and requesting “privacy at this difficult time.”

Plaza and Baena tied the knot in secret in 2020 after a decade-long relationship. The couple did not have children.

Later that year, the “White Lotus” star recounted their wedding story on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” revealing that the decision to marry began as a lighthearted joke while quarantining together during the COVID-19 pandemic.
