CHAK JHUMRA:

Saddar Police claimed to have arrested a suspect wanted in the murder of a transgender individual, Muhammad Imran alias Anjli, who was strangled to death with a piece of cloth.

The suspect has been sent to jail for an identification parade.

The police claimed the murder stemmed from a dispute over a mobile phone.

Addressing a press conference on Saturday, SP Iqbal Town Abid Hussain Zafar, alongside DSP Saddar Tariq Ilyas Kayani and SHO Saddar Ali Ikram Goraya, provided details of the case.

He stated that on December 25, 2024, Muhammad Imran alias Anjli, a resident of Chak 229 RB, Makkoana, was strangled to death by unidentified individuals.

A case was registered based on the complaint of the victim's relative, Peeran Ditta.

City Police Officer (CPO) Faisalabad, DIG Kamran Adil, formed a special investigation team led by DSP Saddar and SHO Saddar to solve the case. The team interrogated several suspects, eventually arresting Akhtar, son of Mian Khan, a resident of Chak 227 RB.

During questioning, the suspect confessed to the murder, citing a personal dispute.

Akhtar revealed that he met Imran three years ago at a wedding, which led to a friendship. A few days before the incident, Akhtar borrowed Imran's mobile phone.

On the day of the murder, the two met near Makkoana Chowki Pul after Maghrib prayers. While walking, they argued over the phone, which escalated into a fight.
