A teacher at a madrassah in Talagang, Punjab, has been accused of raping a 14-year-old student, sparking widespread outrage, Express News reported.
The incident occurred when the teacher allegedly assaulted the minor student. Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has taken notice of the incident, directing the Chairperson of the Child Protection Bureau, Sarah Ahmed, to investigate the matter. Ahmed has assured that the victim will receive all possible assistance, including psychological counselling.
"This incident is extremely regrettable,"Sarah said. "The madrassah teacher not only raped the 14-year-old student but also intimidated and threatened him after the incident."
Police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) and initiated action against the accused. The incident highlights the growing concern of child abuse in Pakistan, where violence against women and children remains a significant issue.
