Angelina Jolie has finalized her eight-year divorce from Brad Pitt, securing an $80 million settlement while their legal battle over the French estate Chateau Miraval continues. The high-profile couple, who met filming Mr. and Mrs. Smith in 2004, have finally ended their marriage, though the aftermath of their disputes lingers.

The pair, who share six children, had a prenuptial agreement that outlined the division of assets, but Jolie’s earnings included an $11.5 million sale of a Winston Churchill painting gifted by Pitt and $64 million from selling her stake in Chateau Miraval.

Brad, with a net worth of $400 million, loaned Jolie $8 million in 2017 to buy a Los Angeles mansion where she resides with their children. Reports confirm she will repay the loan by January. 

Jolie, now 49, continues to focus on her career, including her arts and fashion brand, Atelier Jolie. Despite the settlement, tensions remain over the estate in France, which Pitt hoped to preserve as a legacy for their children.

The divorce settlement brings an end to years of legal battles, leaving both stars to redefine their lives while co-parenting their six children.
