Nicole Kidman, 57, has shared a lighthearted glimpse into the secret behind her successful 18-year marriage to country singer Keith Urban. Speaking to W Magazine, the Oscar-winning actress revealed that their bathroom setup plays a key role in maintaining harmony.
“We have a double shower,” Kidman quipped in the interview. “The double-headed shower: key to a successful marriage.” She added that having separate commodes is another essential feature that has contributed to their long-lasting relationship.
The Emmy winner also disclosed that their shared love for music is a big part of their bond, with both frequently singing in the shower. “I’ll hear his new songs forming,” Kidman said, referring to Urban’s creative process.
Kidman and Urban tied the knot in June 2006 and share two daughters, Sunday, 16, and Faith, 13. Reflecting on their journey, Urban once posted a tribute to their relationship, highlighting its “magic, music, romance, wild adventures, and the ongoing discovery of pure love.”
The couple’s commitment to their personal space echoes a growing trend among celebrity couples, such as Carson Daly and Barbara Corcoran, who credit “separate spaces” for strengthening their relationships.
Kidman was previously married to Tom Cruise, with whom she adopted two children, Isabella, 32, and Connor, 29. The couple divorced in 2001, but she has since found enduring happiness with Urban.
