KARACHI:

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Latif Khosa has emphasized that his party offered an opportunity for dialogue despite the constraints of a hybrid democracy.

Speaking to journalists at the Sindh High Court (SHC), Khosa remarked, "Those who secured just 17 seats are governing the country, while those with 180 seats are behind bars."

The PTI claims that February 8, 2024 elections were highly rigged. The party was deprived of its election symbol prior to the polls. However, independent candidates backed by it reached in the NA in large numbers.

He stressed that the nation's challenges can only be addressed through meaningful dialogue.

Both sides have a realization that the country and democracy cannot function in the current circumstances. It has to decide if the Constitution and law will rule or the hybrid system.

He said the ethnic and sectarian issues in Kurram Agency are 70 years old. The PTI government in K-P has brokered a deal between the feuding sides. It is the job of the federal government and interior ministry to stop aggression from across the border.

He drew a parallel between Imran Khan and Donald Trump, saying both were sentenced after false allegations of moral and financial corruption.
