Deputy Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan Liaquat Baloch has criticised the Prime Minister's "Uraan Pakistan" initiative, likening it to "a flight without wings."
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Baloch asserted that progress cannot be achieved without political stability, warning that lofty aspirations would remain unfulfilled in the absence of foundational reforms.
He called for 2025 to be declared a year of action to address critical international issues, including the Kashmir and Palestine conflicts.
Highlighting the Gaza crisis, Baloch condemned the global community's indifference, which he said continues to deepen the suffering of Palestinians. Reflecting on 2024, he noted that public grievances had worsened, and basic political and democratic rights had been further curtailed.
The JI leader urged the federal government to prioritize inclusivity and transparency in Balochistan's mineral exploration projects, emphasizing the need to involve local communities in decision-making.
Baloch also stressed the swift enactment of the Madrasa Registration Ordinance, calling it a vital step toward reform and progress.
