Rumors are swirling that Leonardo DiCaprio will make a surprise appearance in Squid Game Season 3. According to an OSEN report on January 1, the Hollywood star has already completed filming for a cameo in Netflix’s globally successful series, set for release this summer. While details of his character remain a mystery, reports indicate his screen time will be brief.
However, Netflix has officially denied the claims, stating, “We’ve also heard rumors about Leonardo DiCaprio’s appearance, but they are not true.”
The speculation gained traction due to DiCaprio’s public admiration for the series. Lead actor Lee Jung Jae previously met DiCaprio at the 2021 LACMA Art + Film Gala in Los Angeles, sparking buzz with their friendly interaction. During a red carpet interview in 2022, Lee expressed his desire to see DiCaprio in the show, further fueling rumors.
Director Hwang Dong Hyuk also addressed the possibility during a press conference celebrating Squid Game’s Emmy wins in 2022, stating, “Leonardo DiCaprio said he was a fan of Squid Game. Internally, we even joked, ‘Should we make an offer?’”
Season 2 of Squid Game featured an intense face-off between Gi-hun (Lee Jung Jae) and the Front Man (Lee Byung Hun), setting the stage for more deadly games. Season 3 is slated for release in late 2025, with fans eagerly awaiting new twists and surprises.
