Bayern Munich, Manchester City, and Manchester United are reportedly gearing up to take advantage of FC Barcelona’s ongoing registration issues with Dani Olmo.

The Spanish forward, who joined Barcelona this summer for nearly €50 million, could be released as a free agent on January 1, 2025, if the club fails to officially register him due to financial constraints.

This clause in Olmo’s contract has drawn interest from top European clubs, who see an opportunity to acquire a high-caliber player without paying a hefty transfer fee.

Olmo’s versatility and international experience make him an attractive option for the teams vying for his signature.

Barcelona is working to resolve its financial problems before the deadline to ensure that Olmo can be registered in time.

If the situation isn't resolved, the Spanish international will have several prestigious clubs to choose from for his next career move.

Meanwhile, FC Barcelona has received a significant boost ahead of its Spanish Super Cup campaign, with reports indicating that the club has secured a €100 million ($104 million) cash injection through the sale of VIP boxes at the Spotify Camp Nou.

According to sources cited by outlets such as MARCA, President Joan Laporta negotiated this deal to aid the club's financial situation, particularly as the stadium continues its renovation process.

The sale of these VIP boxes has provided crucial funds to Barcelona, as the club faced a deadline of December 31 for the registration of its two summer signings—Dani Olmo and Pau Victor. Both players, who joined Barcelona during the off-season, were temporarily given special clearance to play due to injuries to Andreas Christensen and Ronald Araujo.

With the December 31 deadline approaching, the financial boost ensures that Olmo and Victor will be able to feature for the team during the rest of the 2024/2025 season.

In addition to this financial relief, Barcelona has also received positive news regarding one of its star players, Lamine Yamal.

The teenager, who won Euro 2024 with Spain, was initially ruled out for three to four weeks following an injury sustained on December 15 during a match against Leganés.

However, after further medical tests, it was confirmed that Yamal's right ankle is now stable, and he is expected to return to training soon.

Barcelona aim to have him fully recovered in time for the Spanish Super Cup.

Barcelona's campaign for the Spanish Super Cup will begin on January 8, with a semi-final match against Athletic Club in Saudi Arabia. If Barcelona progresses, they could face either Real Madrid or Mallorca in the final.

The club will be hoping that both the financial and player updates will help lift the team's morale following a recent 2-1 defeat to Atletico Madrid, which saw them relinquish a six-point lead at the top of La Liga.
