The IHC has listed a petition seeking contempt proceedings against the PTI for violating the court order by staging a protest march in Islamabad between Nov 24 and 26.
IHC Chief Justice Aamer Farooq will hear the petition on January 16. The petition filed by the president of a traders' association, Asad Aziz, contends that the IHC had barred the opposition party from marching on Islamabad and yet the PTI disregarded the order.
Days before the PTI's protest in Islamabad, the IHC on Nov 21 permitted authorities to bar Imran Khan's party from holding any protest or rally in the federal capital in violation of a newly enacted peaceful assembly law.
