Karachi Traffic Police have outlined a detailed plan to facilitate citizens on New Year's Eve as several roads leading to Sea View will be closed between December 31 and January 1, 2025.
This move comes in response to anticipated crowds heading towards popular amusement areas such as Clifton, Bagh Ibn-e-Qasim, and Sea View for New Year's celebrations.
In addition to the road closures, security will be heightened across the city, with Section 144 imposed, banning arms, aerial firing, and firecrackers for two days. Despite these measures, celebratory firing has resulted in numerous injuries and fatalities in previous years.
The traffic police have advised residents of Defence Housing Authority (DHA) to use alternative routes to avoid congestion. DHA residents can present their original identity cards to ensure smooth travel.
Closed Roads:
- PIDC Chowk (Ziauddin Road) to Ziauddin Bridge towards Lucky Signal
