A fire broke out in an eight-story building near Dubai's Mall of the Emirates on Sunday night.
The incident was reported to the Dubai Civil Defence at 10:33 PM. Al Barsha Fire Station responded immediately, with firefighters arriving at the scene five minutes later, at 10:38 PM. The fire was located at the front facade of the building.
By 11:05 PM, the fire was brought under control, and the cooling phase began at 11:48 PM. No casualties were reported. Eyewitnesses confirmed that the building was evacuated once authorities arrived, and firefighting operations commenced shortly after.
While the Civil Defence has not disclosed the cause of the fire, videos posted on social media show emergency personnel battling the blaze.
When Khaleej Times visited the site on Monday, the building's facade was visibly damaged, covered in black soot. Retail shops on the ground floor remained closed following the incident.
In response to the fire, authorities cordoned off the street in front of the building to ensure public safety and facilitate emergency operations.
Only one lane was kept open to allow vehicles to pass.
The Civil Defence has not released further details on the investigation or the cause of the fire.
