Differently-abled girl allegedly raped

PATTOKI:

Two men allegedly assaulted a 14-year-old deaf and mute girl in the village of Kharipur Sharif.

The victim was reportedly fetching water from a hand pump near her home when the suspects Adeel and Husnain forcibly dragged her to an abandoned house.

According to initial reports, the suspects took turns assaulting the victim and recorded a video of the act. When nearby residents heard noises and entered the house, the suspects fled, leaving the girl in a distressed and vulnerable state.

Using gestures, the girl identified her attackers, and the witnesses also confirmed recognising the suspects.

An FIR was registered on the complaint of girl's uncle, and she was immediately taken to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, Pattoki, for a medical examination.

Dr. Faisal Nazir, MS of the hospital, confirmed that preliminary medical evidence suggests she was assaulted, and samples have been sent to the PSFA laboratory for further analysis.

Pattoki Police have arrested one of the suspects, Adeel, and are interrogating him. DSP Pattoki, Tahir Siddique, stated that a special team has been formed to arrest the second suspect, Husnain, who is currently at large.

The victim's uncle called for swift justice, urging the Chief Minister of Punjab to take notice of the incident and ensure strict action against the perpetrators.
