Justin Baldoni is reportedly planning to file a “shocking” counter-complaint against Blake Lively following her allegations of sexual harassment on the set of “It Ends With Us” last week.
The Daily Mail reports that the actor and director intend to file legal documents as soon as courts reopen after New Year’s Day.
“I am not going to speak to when or how many lawsuits we are filing but when we file our first lawsuit, it is going to shock everyone who has been manipulated into believing a demonstrably false narrative,” Baldoni’s lawyer, Bryan Freedman, told *Deadline* on Saturday.
“It will be supported by real evidence and tell the true story. In over 30 years of practicing, I have never seen this level of unethical behavior intentionally fueled through media manipulation.”
“It reminds me of what NBC tried to do to Megyn Kelly and Gabrielle Union and we all know how that ended up. Standby.”
The *Mail* further claims that Baldoni’s lawsuit will contradict Lively’s allegations that he and his PR team orchestrated a smear campaign to tarnish her reputation. Instead, it will accuse Lively’s publicist, Leslie Sloane, of doing the same to Baldoni.
Sloane addressed the report to *Deadline* on Saturday, stating, “It’s clear that Mr. Baldoni and his Wayfarer Associates are suggesting that I originated press stories about HR complaints on set, which is false.”
“Please read Ms. Lively’s Complaint and the Complaint filed by Jonesworks LLC and Stephanie Jones, which provides the details of the campaign against my client.”
Additionally, Baldoni’s complaint will reportedly argue that text messages obtained by Lively through a subpoena, which appear to show his team plotting against her, have been misinterpreted.
His team is also said to plan to claim that Lively filed her lawsuit primarily as an attempt to restore her reputation after receiving negative media attention during the promotion of “It Ends With Us” over the summer.
The feud between the two stars has intensified following months of speculation about their strained relationship during the film's promotion. Rumors gained momentum when the pair notably avoided each other at the movie’s New York City premiere.
