Woman burnt by husband for demanding money for food

Suspect had been abusive since the couple tied the knot.

A woman was severely burned after her husband threw boiling water on her when she asked him for money to buy food for their children.

The victim, Tahira Yasmeen, a resident of Khokharabad Kot Sultan Tehsil Layyah, has filed a case with the Mansoorabad police against her husband, Shahid Ali Jatt.

According to the complaint, Tahira Yasmin married Shahid Ali Jatt, a resident of Mohalla Mansoorabad Panjatni Chowk.

Shahid Ali Jatt had been physically and verbally abusive towards his wife ever since they married in 2018.

He also failed to provide for her expenses. The couple has three children together, including one son and two daughters. On December 17, Tahira Yasmeen asked her husband to bring her food for the children so that she could send them to school.

However, he became furious and started beating her. In a fit of rage, he told her to bring money from her brothers and then poured boiling water on her body and burned her. As a result, the right side of her body suffered burns.

Following the incident, Tahira Yasmeen was rushed to the hospital, where she received medical attention. Police took action and registered a case against the accused under the provisions of 336B PPC and started searching for him.

Meanwhile, a 14-year-old orphan girl was abducted and gang-raped by five people, including two brothers in the Raza Abad area.

The accused, Bilal and his brother Arsalan, residents of Abbas Nagarpal Petrol Pump, along with Taj Deen and Ghulam Sarwar alias Sagar etc, took the 14-year-old minor to an unknown location and subjected her to the crime.
