How much did Varun Dhawan's 'Baby John' earn on first day at Box Office?

The film has garnered mixed reviews as it faces fierce competition from Pushpa 2: The Rule

The much-anticipated and heavily hyped Varun Dhawan starrer Baby John has made a decent start start at the box office. Directed by Kalees and adapted by Atlee from his 2016 Tamil blockbuster Theri (starring Thalapathy Vijay), the film also stars Keerthy Suresh and Wamiqa Gabbi as the leading ladies, with Jackie Shroff playing the antagonist.

Atlee's highly anticipated follow-up to Jawan, Baby John, has made a decent start in India on Christmas Day. According to early estimates, the film collected about INR 13.5 crore on its opening day, marking one of the biggest debuts for a non-franchise film featuring a young hero in the post-pandemic era.

Despite facing stiff competition from Pushpa 2, Baby John has managed to perform well at the box office. The movie's performance is especially notable considering the fractured release due to this fierce competition.

With a prolonged holiday period ahead, the film has the potential to reach a INR 100 crore milestone in India. However, the crucial factor will be maintaining its momentum on Thursday, with a target of INR 7.5 crores or more. If it succeeds, the film could enter the weekend with a strong chance of hitting the INR 50 crore mark within the first five days.
