Girls' college gets advanced computer facility

The newly extended and revamped computer lab is funded by Pak Arab Refinery company with a donation of Rs7 million.

ISLAMABAD:

A state-of-the-art computer laboratory was inaugurated at Islamabad Model College for Girls (IMCG) F-8/1 on Tuesday.

Parliamentary Secretary Farah Naz Akbar, federal secretary for the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training inaugurated the newly renovated computer lab.

The newly extended and revamped computer lab is funded by Pak Arab Refinery company with a donation of Rs7 million. It now boasts 30 additional computer systems, increasing its capacity to accommodate over 60 students. The lab is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including an Interactive LED donated by Pakistan Petroleum with Rs2 million in funding.

Parliamentary Secretary Farah Naz, speaking on the occasion, said that the girl's college had a newly established Mother-Child Care Unit which provides first aid and medical facilities and caters to the needs of students and mothers from the community.

"The newly renovated facilities demonstrate a significant improvement in infrastructure to support academic and extracurricular activities," she added.

Federal secretary Moin Wani said that renovations of washrooms in the junior and senior sections have been completed with Rs1.15m and the staff room has been extended to provide a peaceful and accommodating workspace for teachers.

"The projects stand as an excellent example of public-private partnership and with the sponsor and contributions of different companies, colleges have significantly enhanced the educational infrastructure and overall learning environment," he added

The college's upgraded library offers enhanced resources to promote academic growth, while the Mind Games Room promotes critical thinking and logic through activities like chess, Scrabble, and crossword puzzles become a favourite space for both students and teachers.

The Smart Classroom introduces advanced technology, enabling students to engage in digital learning and assessments through the e-Taleem LMS.
