Top cop tells dumper owners to follow laws

The police chief assured the delegation that all their legitimate grievances would be addressed.

KARACHI:

An 11-member delegation of All Pakistan Dumper Truck Transport Owners Association called on the Additional IG Karachi at the Karachi Police Office on Monday.

The delegation, led by the association's president, Haji Liaquat Mehsud, discussed various issues and problems the truckers are facing with the Additional IG Karachi Javed Alam Odho.

The police chief assured the delegation that all their legitimate grievances would be addressed. He particularly mentioned that accidents occur due to negligence and irresponsible driving. He said, drivers who violate traffic rules will not the shown any leniency and strict action would be taken against irresponsible drivers who endanger lives of others.

The police chief further mentioned that violators of traffic rules, especially those who drive without driving licence and disturb the flow of traffic would be dealt with iron hand.
