The federal government has announced a public holiday for Wednesday, December 25th, 2024, on account of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah's birth anniversary.
All banks and other institutions will remain closed on this day, as per the notification.
Meanwhile, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) also issued a notification confirming that banks will be closed for the day in observance of both Quaid-e-Azam Day and Christmas.
The central bank's announcement indicates that all financial institutions, including commercial banks, will be closed on December 25 as per the government's directive.
Pakistan will celebrate the birth anniversary of its founder, Quaid-e-Azam, with immense enthusiasm and respect. The day will begin with gun salutes in both the federal and provincial capitals, followed by a dignified changing of the guard ceremony at the Quaid's mausoleum in Karachi.
Across the nation, official events and ceremonies will take place to honor the Quaid's life, political struggles, and pivotal role in the creation of Pakistan.
Various social, political, and non-governmental organizations, along with forums, have also arranged special programs to commemorate the occasion.
