Jannat Mirza, Pakistan's most popular TikTok star, has revealed why she prefers TikTok over traditional cinema in a recent interview.
Known for her massive Instagram following of over 10 million, Mirza made her film debut in Syed Noor’s "Tere Bajre Di Rakhi," but the film failed to perform well at the box office. Since then, she has shifted her focus to modeling and social media.
Mirza explained that her choice of TikTok over cinema was based on the changing preferences of today’s youth.
She said, "Young people today prefer to scroll through TikTok from the comfort of their homes, where they can watch me anytime they want."
She believes that cinema doesn’t appeal to the younger generation, as they would rather use their mobile phones at home.
Especially considering the high cost of cinema tickets, which many people cannot afford for their whole family.
Mirza’s insights reflect the ongoing shift in entertainment consumption, where platforms like TikTok are taking precedence over traditional mediums like cinema, particularly among younger audiences.
