A Rangers official, Lance Naik Muhammad Tanveer, has succumbed to injuries sustained during violent protests in Islamabad on November 25 and 26, Express News reported. The 37-year-old, a resident of Narowal, had been in a coma following the unrest.
Tanveer served in Pakistan Rangers Punjab for 17 years. He leaves behind his wife, two sons, and three daughters. This brings the death toll of Rangers personnel to four, with several others injured.
The violent protests, allegedly led by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers under the guise of demonstrations, caused significant damage to public property.
Additionally, two Punjab police officers lost their lives, and approximately 119 were wounded. Islamabad police reported 11 officers critically injured during the clashes.
Footage circulating online shows PTI workers setting fires and engaging in acts of vandalism. Authorities have vowed strict legal action against those involved.
