US President-elect Donald Trump has fuelled speculation online after appearing at his Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach with what appeared to be a noticeably different hairstyle.

Trump, known for his signature voluminous hair, was filmed briefly interacting with supporters at the club while sporting a flatter, shorter look than usual length.

The video clip, shared by his backer Solakiewicz, shows the president-elect wearing a Trump polo shirt and his trademark red "Make America Great Again" hat. He walks into a room to applause, asking the crowd, “Is everybody having a good time?” before joking, “Is everybody a Republican?”

Social media users quickly noted that his hair appeared to be much less puffed up, with some speculating that Trump had either gotten a haircut or momentarily altered his usual grooming routine. The change, however, was subtle and its cause remains unclear.

Trump’s iconic hairstyle, often described as a lion’s mane due to its puffed-up sides and top, has been a prominent feature of his public persona for decades. Any alteration would be a significant departure from the image that has become synonymous with his brand, attracting both admiration and mockery.

The change in appearance is not the first time Trump’s hairstyle has garnered attention. In May 2022, during an interview related to the mishandling of classified documents, Trump’s personal aide, Walt Nauta, referred to him as a “hoarder” of hairspray.

In June 2019, Trump was also seen with a notably flatter hairdo at a memorial event, though he quickly reverted to his signature look in the following days.

Trump has previously addressed speculation surrounding his hair, dismissing claims of wearing a wig. In a 2013 tweet, he wrote, “As everybody knows, but the haters & losers refuse to acknowledge, I do not wear a 'wig.'

My hair may not be perfect but it's mine.” In a 2011 interview with Rolling Stone, he explained, "I actually don't have a bad hairline. I get a lot of credit for comb-overs. But it's not really a comb-over."

In 2023, cosmetic surgeon Gary Linkov suggested Trump may have undergone multiple hair transplants, though this has not been confirmed.

Trump’s new look has once again become the subject of intense online discussion, with many questioning if this marks the beginning of a new chapter for the president-elect’s iconic appearance.
