Sheheryar Munawar and Maheen Siddiqui's wedding festivities have officially begun with a lively dholki night that has taken social media by storm. A video showcasing the couple celebrating in high spirits has gone viral, attracting warm wishes from fans and admirers.
The Ho Mann Jahaan actor was seen beaming with joy, his contagious smile stealing the show as he danced to the the dhol and posed for pictures with family and friends. His bride-to-be, Maheen Siddiqui, stunned in an elegant orange and yellow traditional ensemble, complementing Sheheryar's classic brown kurta that featured intricate embroidery around the neckline.
The intimate gathering was held over the weekend and featured close family members, dear friends, and several big names from the entertainment industry. Guests like director Asim Raza, Mahira Khan, and Momal Sheikh were spotted enjoying the festivities, with glimpses of the event circulating widely on social media and local news platforms.
Music took centre stage at the dholki, with renowned singers Ali Hamza and Jimmy Khan serenading the attendees. The night marked the perfect start to what promises to be a grand celebration.
What followed a lot of rumours, speculation and him beating around the bush, the actor finally went public regarding his love life in August. Munawar displayed affection for fellow actor Siddiqui, calling her his "jaan (beloved)" in an Instagram post. This public declaration further fuelled excitement among fans, who have been rooting for the duo ever since rumours of their relationship began earlier this year.
Earlier this year in July, before his marriage was confirmed, during an appearance on the FWhy Podcast Munawar was asked whether there's any truth to these claims. While he did not confirm or deny the speculation, he expressed his gratitude and requested prayers.
"What I will say is that Alhamdulillah I'm grateful. I'm very grateful. I'm happy. Allah has been kind, and the parents are very happy," shared the Parey Hut Love star.
"Exciting times are ahead, and I would ask everyone to say a little prayer for us. I just feel, as I've mentioned before, that I want this to be a very personal experience for both of us and private."
Despite the scrutiny, Munawar shared that he understands the public's fascination with celebrity lives. "What can they do? When they show us love, we're happy. When they don't, I have no complaints. This was the assignment I took on. If you understand the assignment, you realise that this [intrusion] comes with it."
