Travis Hunter fiancée Leanna Lenee addresses controversies and Heisman backlash in emotional video
Leanna Lenee, fiancée of Colorado Buffaloes star Travis Hunter, has addressed weeks of online backlash and speculation in an emotional TikTok video that has garnered over 1.7 million views. Lenee responded to multiple controversies, including events at the Heisman Trophy ceremony, an Oklahoma State game, and a viral video at an Adidas store.
Lenee began by expressing her frustration over false narratives circulating online. She clarified why she initially ignored Hunter’s direct messages, explaining that he was in a relationship at the time. “I don’t do home-wrecking,” Lenee stated, emphasizing her respect for other women.
Regarding claims that Hunter “wasn’t her type,” Lenee explained her comment had been misinterpreted. She said she does not have a physical type and judges people based on character. Her hesitation initially stemmed from Hunter being younger and his past relationship issues. “I date people for who they are as a person,” she said, adding that Hunter’s values and kindness ultimately won her over.
Addressing rumors following the Oklahoma State game, Lenee refuted claims she was upset about Hunter speaking to cheerleaders. She clarified that her frustration stemmed from security preventing family members, including herself, from accessing the field. “I argued with a guard because I couldn’t get down to see Travis,” she explained.

Lenee then addressed the viral video from an Adidas store in New York City. She clarified that the individuals Hunter was photographed with were Adidas employees, not fans. Her misinterpreted comment was simply her asking about their next plans.
At the Heisman Trophy ceremony, Lenee dismissed claims she needed prompting to celebrate Hunter’s win. She hesitated briefly after noticing Hunter’s mother hadn’t stood up and wanted the focus to remain on Hunter and his family. “I was super excited for him,” Lenee said, “but I wanted the moment to be about him.”
Hunter later defended Lenee on a Twitch stream, calling on critics to stop targeting her. “If she’s hurting, I’m hurting,” he stated. Despite the backlash, the couple remains strong and are set to marry next year.
