Chad Michael Murray is looking forward to collaborating with his former Freaky Friday co-star, Lindsay Lohan, on another project — this time, a holiday film. The pair recently reunited on the set of their upcoming sequel, Freakier Friday, and Murray, 43, shared his hopes of working together again in an exclusive interview with PEOPLE.
"If we had the opportunity, it'd be great," Murray said. "It would be a really beautiful thing."
Both stars have made appearances in Netflix Christmas films this year, with Murray starring in The Merry Gentlemen (released Nov. 20) and Lohan in Our Little Secret (released Nov. 27). Their simultaneous ventures into holiday cinema have inspired Murray to consider teaming up again for a festive project.
Murray and Lohan filmed Freakier Friday over the summer, reprising their roles from the 2003 Disney hit. The sequel, set to release on August 8, 2025, will also see the return of Jamie Lee Curtis as Lohan's character Anna’s mother, Tess.
Reflecting on the experience, Murray noted the unique bond he shares with Lohan after 20 years of knowing each other. "To watch growth, and to see her with her little boy, and to meet her husband… now that we're grown adults, it’s really special," he said.
The actor hopes for a more intimate collaboration in the future, particularly a project focused on the two of them. "To be able to sit down and do something where it was just her and I carrying the world, and both our families can come to set, it would be really beautiful," he said.
