Hannah Hiatt, a popular TikTok momfluencer, is under investigation after a video she posted raised concerns about the wellbeing of her young son. Hiatt, 25, gained significant attention on social media, notably for her viral "17 diapers" video, where she humorously showed her house filled with dirty diapers. However, her latest video, showing her young son James flinching and hiding his face when his father Braxton walked towards him, sparked widespread concern among her followers.

The video, posted last month, was quickly removed from Hiatt's TikTok page after followers reported it to Child Protective Services (CPS) and the Ogden, Utah, Police Department. A detective has since been assigned to the case. Many viewers expressed worry about the child’s reaction, interpreting his behavior as distressing.

Hiatt responded in a follow-up video on November 29, where she defended her family and explained the situation. She described the video as a playful interaction between her husband and their son, clarifying that they often "scare each other" as a form of play. “There’s nothing going on,” Hiatt reassured her audience. “From the moment my husband wakes up, he's only thinking about our family and what's best for us.”

Despite her defense, Hiatt faced growing criticism from online trolls. In another video, she expressed frustration with how some individuals are quick to "turn nothing into something" for the sake of gaining attention. She emphasized how some people, eager for fame, will post anything for views, regardless of the consequences for others.

In addition to her TikTok fame, Hiatt has worked as a nurse in Utah, and her online popularity skyrocketed after her "17 diapers" video, which earned her the nickname “17 diapers mom.” The video, showing her picking up a pile of dirty diapers around the house, was meant as a humorous take on motherhood but attracted a mix of admiration and judgment.

Though she initially received backlash from the viral video, Hiatt later shared that many critics didn't see the full picture, including moments when she was actively caring for her children, like taking them to the park or coloring with them. Despite the ongoing investigation, Hiatt’s social media following continues to grow, though she has recently made her Instagram private and disabled comments on her TikTok page to limit further scrutiny.
