Lahore and other regions of Punjab remain under a prolonged dry spell, with no rain expected in the coming days, says the Meteorological Department.
The minimum temperature in Lahore dropped to 5°C, while the maximum temperature is forecast to reach 20°C, Express News reported.
Moreover, Lahore's air quality index (AQI) has reached a concerning 291, classified as "very unhealthy," which is only second to Delhi's AQI of 521.
Weather officials expect the cold and dry conditions to persist for at least the next two to three days.
The dry weather has triggered a rise in seasonal illnesses such as colds, flu, and coughs, prompting health experts to urge precautions.
"Citizens should wear masks and consume immunity-boosting foods to protect against seasonal illnesses," experts advised.
No rain is predicted for the region in the short term, leaving residents to brace for continued cold and dry conditions.
Mainly cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country, while very cold and partly cloudy in hilly areas during the next twelve hours.
Cloudy weather with light rain and snowfall over mountains is expected in northwestern Balochistan during night. Light fog is expected at a few places in central and southern Punjab during night.
Meanwhile, temperature of Islamabad and Quetta on Sunday was three degrees centigrade, Lahore eight, Karachi 13, Peshawar and Murree two, Gilgit one and Muzaffarabad five degrees centigrade.
According to weather forecast for IIOJK, partly cloudy and very cold weather is expected in Srinagar, Leh, Pulwama, Anantnag and Shopian.
