At least nine people died in two separate accidents near Skardu in Gilgit-Baltistan and Neelum Valley of the Azad Kashmir on Sunday, officials and medics in the two regions confirmed.
In one accident, a car crushed under landslide, while travelling from Skardu-Jaglot road near Rondu tehsil, Assistant Commissioner Hussain Butt said. All the five people travelling in the car died, he added.
Assistant Commissioner Hussain Butt told The Express Tribune that the local people cleared the debris, however, none of the passengers survived. The car was travelling from Skardu to Shangos.
In another accident in Upper Neelum Valley, four people travelling in a jeep died and seven others injured. Dr Ashraf Khan, the medical superintendent of the Keel Hospital said that all the four deceased belonged to the same family.
