A five-year-old girl was attacked with acid by her stepfather in Green Town after she refused to accompany him.
The attack left 20% of the child's body burned, and she is currently receiving treatment at a local hospital.
According to a police spokesperson, the child had been living with her grandfather following her parents' divorce. On Friday, her stepfather, identified as Hameedu along with an accomplice, Amanat, visited the house at the mother's request to take the girl with them. When the child resisted, Hameedu became enraged and threw acid at her, the spokesperson revealed.
DIG Operations Faisal Kamran formed a investigation team led by an SP to ensure the arrest of the culprits.
