Mohamed Salah reached a significant milestone by recording his 100th assist for Liverpool during their 2-2 draw with Fulham on Saturday.
Despite the frustration of the result, Salah’s contribution was pivotal, as his precise cross set up Cody Gakpo's diving header, Liverpool's first equaliser of the match.
The game proved challenging for Liverpool after Andy Robertson received an early red card. Nonetheless, the Reds fought back twice to secure a point.
Salah’s milestone came in his 372nd appearance for the club, and he has now contributed to 29 goals in 22 games across all competitions this season.
Manager Arne Slot noted the importance of having key players return from injury. He remarked that the team had dealt with injuries effectively, stating, "We are delighted to have some players back because we've had our injuries. The good thing is that nobody spoke about it because that means you get results. To have them available at this moment was really helpful."
Slot also discussed his decision to bring on attacking players late in the game, saying, "We thought to bring in all the players who can score a goal. Seeing them work so hard without the ball, with five or six offensive players keeping the other team away from goal and still creating chances, was great to see."
Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota played crucial roles, with Jota scoring the late equaliser. Slot acknowledged their contributions and highlighted Harvey Elliott's return after two months out, adding, "Darwin [Nunez] and Jota had an impact but Harvey [Elliott] had an impact as well, being out for two months now – it's good to have him back also."
