Even the provincial capital, Peshawar, has recorded a significant drop in temperature

Seven districts of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa have been engulfed by intense cold, with temperatures dropping below freezing. Residents in these areas have confined themselves indoors due to the severe weather. Even the provincial capital, Peshawar, has recorded a significant drop in temperature, reaching as low as 1°C due to the cold wave.

Currently, the minimum temperature in Swat's tourist spot Kalam has dropped to -6°C, while Chitral, Upper Dir, and Malam Jabba recorded -4°C. Most districts in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa are experiencing cold and dry weather, with a strong cold wave persisting in the upper regions.

According to the Meteorological Department, strong cold winds are expected in Chitral, Swat, Shangla, Buner, Dir, Battagram, Torghar, Mansehra, and Abbottabad, further intensifying the cold in upper districts. There is also a possibility of snowfall in some areas.

The minimum temperature in Peshawar has dropped to 2°C, while Kalam recorded -6°C. Malam Jabba, Chitral, and Upper Dir registered -4°C, and temperatures in Saidu Swat reached 1°C. Other areas like Drosh in Chitral and Parachinar are also facing harsh winter conditions.
