MOFA announces safe return of 300 Pakistanis from Syria

The returnees were individuals who had traveled to Syria for religious purposes.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that more than 300 Pakistanis have safely returned to Pakistan from Syria, Express News reported.

Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, during the weekly media briefing, confirmed that among the returnees were individuals who had traveled to Syria for religious purposes.

The Pakistani government expressed gratitude to the Lebanese authorities for promptly issuing visas to facilitate the return of its citizens. Pakistan's embassy in Syria has been assisting all Pakistani nationals in the region.

Baloch also addressed the international community's role in addressing global conflicts. She called on the world to take notice of Israel's alleged war crimes and expressed Pakistan's firm stance on supporting Syria’s sovereignty.

The spokesperson condemned Israel's occupation of the Golan heights, emphasising that external intervention would not resolve Syria's issues.

Pakistan reiterated its commitment to the political and moral support of Kashmiris and called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.

Regarding the recent death of Khalil ur Rahman Haqqani, Pakistan’s Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister expressed their condolences.

Furthermore, discussions between Pakistan and Tajikistan during their seventh meeting in Islamabad focused on enhancing trade and investment.

Pakistan and France also held a meeting on UN security issues, agreeing to jointly tackle global challenges.
