Sean "Diddy" Combs and Jay-Z are facing allegations in a civil lawsuit accusing them of raping a 13-year-old girl at an afterparty following the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards. The accuser claims that, before the alleged incident, Combs made disturbing remarks that she remembers vividly.
In an amended civil complaint obtained by PEOPLE, a woman referred to as Jane Doe alleges that she was assaulted by Combs, 55, and Jay-Z, whose legal name is Shawn Carter, also 55, while an unnamed female celebrity witnessed the event at a New York City residence. The initial complaint, filed in October, did not include Jay-Z as a defendant.
The complaint states that the accuser was invited to the afterparty by a limousine driver who claimed to be employed by Combs. The driver allegedly told her that Combs preferred younger girls and said she "fit what Diddy was looking for." Before this, the accuser said she had been attempting to gain entry to the VMAs by waiting outside Radio City Music Hall and approaching limousines bringing guests to the event.
The plaintiff, who was 13 years old at the time of the alleged incident, claims that upon arriving at the afterparty, she was asked to sign a non-disclosure agreement. She was then given a drink that she believes had been drugged, according to the complaint.
The plaintiff claims that Combs approached her during the party with a "crazed look in his eyes" and allegedly told her, "You are ready to party!” as stated in the complaint.
She further alleges that Combs threw her against a wall, causing her to fall. After she got up and “stumbled,” Combs reportedly grabbed her again and “threw her onto the bed,” according to the complaint.
The complaint also alleges that Jay-Z then removed the plaintiff’s clothing and restrained her while he raped her, with both Combs and the unnamed female celebrity present and watching. The accuser claims that “after Carter finished,” she was then r*ped by Combs as Jay-Z and the female celebrity continued to watch.
The unnamed Jane Doe is seeking unspecified damages. Her attorney, Tony Buzbee, previously announced that he was representing more than 100 people accusing Combs of misconduct.
