Pakistan and China complete Warrior-VIII joint drill

Troops from Pakistan and China earn praise for professionalism in annual Warrior-VIII exercise.

The Pakistan Army and the People's Liberation Army of China concluded their three-week joint military exercise, Warrior-VIII, focused on counter-terrorism operations, on 11 December 2024, according to an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) press release.

The exercise, held annually as part of bilateral military collaboration, marked its eighth edition this year.

The event culminated with a Distinguished Visitors’ Day (DVD) ceremony on December 10 at the Tilla Field Firing Range, attended by high-ranking officials from both countries.

Commander Rawalpindi Corps, Lieutenant General Shahid Imtiaz, served as the chief guest, while the Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan and other Chinese dignitaries were also present at the ceremony.

During the event, dignitaries praised the participating troops for their high standards of professionalism and the successful execution of complex training objectives.

According to the ISPR, Warrior-VIII highlights the strengthening defence ties between Pakistan and China, reflecting their shared commitment to regional stability and counter-terrorism efforts.

COAS congratulates Pakistan Army team for securing gold in 'Exercise Cambrian Patrol'

General Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), met with the Pakistan Army team that secured the prestigious gold medal in the "Exercise Cambrian Patrol," held in the United Kingdom from 4 to 13 October 2024.

The Cambrian Patrol is renowned as one of the most challenging military exercises globally. This year, 143 teams participated, and the Pakistan Army contingent stood out for its exceptional skill and resilience.

This marks the sixth time that the Pakistan Army has earned the coveted gold medal in this event.

According to a news release from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the exercise took place in the unforgiving mountainous terrain of mid-Wales and tested participants on physical endurance, tactical acumen, and mental fortitude.

The event emphasises teamwork, leadership, self-discipline, courage, and determination under the most demanding operational scenarios, setting a high benchmark for military excellence.

The COAS commended the team for their outstanding performance and for upholding Pakistan’s honour on the international stage. The victory further solidifies the Pakistan Army's reputation for excellence in global military competitions.
