President-elect Donald Trump has announced Kimberly Guilfoyle, a former Fox News personality and longtime ally, as his nominee for US ambassador to Greece.

In a statement shared on Truth Social, Trump praised Guilfoyle's experience in law, media, and politics, citing her as "supremely qualified to represent the United States and safeguard its interests abroad."

He emphasised her suitability for strengthening bilateral relations with Greece in areas such as defense cooperation, trade, and economic innovation.

Guilfoyle expressed her gratitude for the appointment in a statement on X, saying she was honoured to serve and eager to advance US interests in partnership with Greece.

“As ambassador, I look forward to delivering on the Trump agenda, supporting our Greek allies, and ushering in a new era of peace and prosperity,” she said.

Donald Trump Jr also voiced his support on X, highlighting Guilfoyle's commitment to public service.

"She loves America and she always has wanted to serve the country as an ambassador. She will be an amazing leader for America First," he said.

Guilfoyle is engaged to Donald Trump Jr. Media reports have alleged that the couple has split.

Guilfoyle’s career includes roles as a co-host of Fox News’ The Five and as an assistant district attorney in San Francisco and Los Angeles before transitioning to media.

She left Fox News in 2018 and subsequently became the Trump campaign’s finance chair during the 2020 presidential election. Guilfoyle has also been a prominent figure in Trump’s political circle, helping raise funds for the "Stop the Steal" rally on January 6, 2021. She testified before the House select committee investigating the Capitol attack in 2022.

Trump has made other high-profile appointments ahead of his second administration. Real estate developer Charles Kushner, father of Jared Kushner and father-in-law to Ivanka Trump, has been named the next US ambassador to France.

Charles Kushner, pardoned by Trump in 2020 following a 2005 conviction on federal charges, has long been associated with the Trump family.

Trump selected billionaire Massad Boulos as a senior adviser on Arab and Middle Eastern affairs. Boulos, father-in-law to Trump’s youngest daughter Tiffany, is expected to play a key role in shaping policy in the region.

These appointments reflect Trump’s continued reliance on trusted allies and family connections in key positions as he prepares for his presidency.
