SAFF champions begin qualifying event with huge win.
PESHAWAR:
Pakistan under-16 began their AFC U-16 Championship qualification campaign in style with a 4-0 win over Maldives in Kuwait City.
Pakistan continued their fine form and confidence from their SAFF U-16 Championship victory as they took Maldives to the sword once again from the start. Taking the lead in the 13th minute, Pakistan doubled their lead just three minutes later.
In the 63rd minute, a Mansoor Khan’s cross found the head of Bilal, who flicked it on for impressive winger Sher Ali to score Pakistan’s third before Raza Ali made it 4-0 with his 20-yard strike.
The win should give coach Sajjad Mehmood great confidence in their tricky AFC qualification group that also features UAE, Kuwait, Yemen, and Afghanistan.
