According to Filmfare reports, Pakistani heartthrob Fawad Khan and Bollywood actor Vaani Kapoor have wrapped up filming their much-anticipated romantic comedy Abir Gulaal after a 40-day schedule in London. Directed by Aarti S Bagdi and produced by Vivek B Agarwal, Avantika Hari, and Rakesh Sippy, the cross-cultural project promises a story of love and healing.

The film, which features Fawad as a UK-based chef, also stars Lisa Hayden in a pivotal role. Speaking about the storyline, Bagdi revealed to Pinkvilla, "The film explores the journey of two individuals who unintentionally help each other heal, with love blossoming as an unexpected consequence."

According to insiders, the film's release will be carefully timed and strategically planned. A source disclosed, "The makers plan to market the film internationally and show it at various festivals for starters." Abir Gulaal is expected to make its rounds at prestigious film festivals before its theatrical release. Fans can expect the film to hit cinemas in the second half of 2025.

The producers are confident in the film's universal appeal, particularly with the Pakistani actor leading the cast. "Fawad has a massive global fan base, and we anticipate that audiences and his fans will wholeheartedly embrace this film, as it showcases him in his most endearing role yet," said the production team. "The chemistry between Fawad and Vaani is expected to light up the screen with their captivating performances and undeniable charm."

The Humsafar actor got his big break through the Pakistani drama scene and followed it with a Bollywood debut in 2014 with Khoobsurat, starring opposite Sonam Kapoor. He further cemented his place in the hearts of Indian fans through Kapoor & Sons and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. Fans have been eagerly awaiting his return to Bollywood screens since 2016 after India's ban on Pakistani talent.
