Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Sindh on Human Rights Rajvir Singh Sodha paid an official visit to the Sindh Human Rights Commission (SHRC) office on Saturday. During his visit, he held a detailed discussion with the Chairperson Iqbal Ahmed Detho, Judicial Member Arshad Noor Khan, and the commission's staff to understand its functioning and the challenges it faces in promoting and protecting human rights across Sindh.
The chairperson provided an in-depth briefing on the commission's powers, functions, and mandate, shedding light on its critical role in upholding human rights in the province. He elaborated the commission's daily operations, emphasising its proactive approach to addressing human rights violations, conducting awareness campaigns, and engaging with stakeholders to ensure accountability and justice. Chairperson Detho also highlighted significant challenges impeding the commission's effectiveness.
Rajvir Singh Sodha appreciated the comprehensive briefing and commended the SHRC's dedication and tireless efforts in advocating for human rights. Expressing his concern over the highlighted challenges, he assured Detho and the staff of his full support on the issues raised by the commission.
