A trailer hit an oil tanker from behind on Native Jetty bridge as a result the oil in the tanker spilled making the road dangerously slippery on Saturday. The traffic police and other squads of law enforcement agencies reached the scene and closed the road for all vehicular traffic.

According to details, a trailer, heading towards the ICI bridge from Native Jetty, rammed into the oil tanker as a result the oil in the tanker spilled all over the road.

Oil spillage from the tanker resulted in a hazardous situation when passers-by gathered and started filling their plastic drums, cans, and bottles with the oil flowing on the road. The police resorted to baton-charge to disperse them and to avert any untoward incident. The affected road was closed to traffic. The traffic police spread sand on the flowing spilled oil. Later, the affected road was opened for the traffic. However, several motorcycles slipped due to the slippery road condition, resulting in minor injuries and damage to clothing from the oil spill.

Meanwhile, a speeding passenger coach overturned after its driver lost control on the steering wheel of the vehicle on Naval Colony Bridge in Mauripur area. In this incident two persons sustained injuries who were shifted to the Civil Hospital. The injured were identified as 27-year-old Shah Faisal, son of Abdul Samad, and 45-year-old Abdullah, son of Shergul.
