Karachi temperature likely to hit 11°C as new cold spell sweeps Sindh

The Early Warning Centre has forecasted dry weather for Karachi over the next three days

Karachi and several other areas of Sindh are experiencing a new wave of mild cold weather, with temperatures expected to drop further over the weekend, Express News reported.

On Sunday, the mercury could fall to as low as 11°C, while Saturday saw a dip of 2.5°C, with the city recording 14°C compared to the previous day's temperature. On Friday, the minimum temperature in the city had been recorded at 16°C.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a fresh spell of light cold weather has entered the province. The prevailing winds are expected to be coming from the direction of Balochistan, causing the temperature to drop even further, with 11°C expected to be recorded in the coming days.

The Early Warning Centre has forecasted dry weather for Karachi over the next three days, with cool nights expected. In upper Sindh, the night temperature could drop to 9.7°C, while central Sindh is expected to see temperatures ranging between 9°C and 11°C.

In southern Sindh, temperatures will likely remain between 10°C and 12°C. The shift in weather conditions marks a significant dip in temperatures for the region, as residents brace for colder nights ahead.
