The highly anticipated sequel 28 Years Later has unveiled its first poster, offering fans a chilling glimpse into the post-apocalyptic world that follows the events of 28 Days Later and 28 Weeks Later. Sony Pictures released the poster this week after deciding to skip CCXP, with the artwork teasing a desolate world ravaged by the consequences of the deadly Rage virus. The ominous tagline, "Time Didn't Heal Anything," hints at the grim atmosphere of the upcoming film.

Directed by Danny Boyle, who helmed the original 28 Days Later, this installment marks the beginning of a planned trilogy. Alex Garland, who wrote the scripts for 28 Days Later and Sunshine, returns to pen the script for 28 Years Later. The film's plot details remain under wraps, but the poster suggests a continuing story of survival amidst the horrors of the Rage-infected world.

The cast for the film is equally exciting, featuring Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ralph Fiennes, Jack O'Connell, Erin Kellyman, and Cillian Murphy. While Murphy isn't confirmed as a lead actor, he will serve as an executive producer and is expected to make a cameo appearance. The film's narrative centers around a young boy guiding his dying mother across the ravaged landscape of northern England to find a doctor, all while evading violent infected humans lurking in the wilderness.

Fiennes recently shared more details about the plot, which involves the boy's journey through the beautiful yet dangerous terrain of northern England. 28 Years Later is currently slated for a theatrical release on June 30, 2025, with the second chapter in the trilogy to be directed by Nia DaCosta (Candyman).
