Robert Pattinson has always been known for his offbeat sense of humor, and now he’s admitted that some of the wild stories he told during interviews were pure fabrications. In a recent reflection, the actor revealed that during his intense publicity tour for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 in 2011, he lied about witnessing a clown die in a car explosion.
The actor explained to The New York Times Style Magazine that he was surprised when he rewatched the interview, saying, "There was absolutely no hesitation at all [in my voice]. I’m like, ‘What on earth? Are you possessed?’"
Pattinson confessed that his penchant for making up stories came from the monotony of being asked the same questions about fame. "You go into, like, a fugue state," he said, explaining how he felt compelled to spice up his interviews by telling tall tales. Other outrageous fabrications from Pattinson include claiming to be a women’s hand model, going on a dinner date with a stalker, and shooting a coprophilia scene for Twilight that never made it to the final cut.
The actor’s candor highlights the pressures of constant media attention and how, at times, he felt driven to entertain himself with absurd stories. Whether intentional or not, these quirky lies have become part of Pattinson's persona, adding a layer of mystique to his celebrity status.
