The Housing Colony police claimed to have arrest three suspects involved in the murder of a young man driven by family grudge, financial greed.
The accused, including the victim Yasin's maternal cousin, confessed to the crime, which was motivated by a minor grudge and greed for money.
The case came to light when the body of Yasin was discovered inside a car in the Hashim Town area of Sheikhupura.
The victim had been fatally shot and his body was sent for an autopsy after forensic experts and geo-fencing teams collected evidence from the scene.
District Police Officer (DPO) Sheikhupura Bilal Zafar Sheikh formed multiple investigation teams led by SP Investigation, SDPO City Circle and SHO Housing Colony Police.
The teams were tasked with registering a case, conducting a thorough investigation, and apprehending the culprits swiftly.
Utilising advanced forensic tools, geo-fencing techniques, and human intelligence, the police identified and arrested the suspects Haris, Areeb, and Usama within a remarkably short time.
During interrogation, the suspects admitted to borrowing Rs200,000 from the deceased, which they were unable to repay.
The ongoing demand for repayment led to a grudge, and they plotted the murder
After killing Yasin, the suspects severed his thumb and used it to withdraw Rs1 million from his bank account via ATM.
DPO Bilal Zafar Sheikh commended the investigation teams for their prompt action, announcing certificates of appreciation for their efforts. He also vowed to ensure that the culprits face the strictest punishment under the law.
"Police will leave no stone unturned to bring justice to the victim's family," the DPO stated.
