US President Joe Biden recently granted a pardon to his son Hunter Biden for convictions related to tax and firearms offenses. The President argued that Hunter’s prosecution was “selective” and “unfair,” mainly due to his family background. This move contradicted Joe Biden's earlier promise to never use his presidential powers to show leniency toward his son.

In the meantime, Shaun Maguire, a partner at Sequoia Capital, posted a few tweets on X concerning President Biden’s decision. He claimed that Hunter Biden owed a significant sum to his family and was renting their property in Venice, Los Angeles.

Shaun’s first tweet, posted on December 2, stated: "So what happens to the $300k+ in back pay rent that Hunter Biden owes my family from 2019-2020? Is that pardoned now?"

In his next tweet, Shaun wrote: "Yup. True story. Hunter was our tenant in Venice, CA. Didn't pay rent for over a year. Tried to pay w/ art made from his own feces."

He also accused Hunter Biden of locking him out of the Venice property. In a follow-up tweet, Shaun alleged that Hunter had changed the locks and used Secret Service agents to enforce the action, leaving him unable to access the property.

Shaun Maguire holds a BA in Mathematics from the University of Southern California (2007), an MS in Statistics from Stanford, and an MS and PhD in Physics from Caltech. According to Sequoia Capital’s website, Shaun’s interest in technology was inspired by a cousin studying computer science, and he has founded five companies, three of which were successful.

As previously mentioned, Joe Biden's recent decision to pardon Hunter has attracted considerable attention. In his statement, the President emphasized that “There has been an effort to break Hunter – who has been five and a half years sober, even in the face of unrelenting attacks and selective prosecution.”

Joe further stated that "raw politics" had contributed to a "miscarriage of justice" in his son’s case. He then addressed the American public, explaining his reasons for making the decision to pardon Hunter Biden.
