The Sindh government has released Rs330 million funds for the law enforcement agencies (LEAs) to intensify the operation against Katcha area outlaws.
Sources in the Central Police Office disclosed that Rs330 million has been released to the SSPs of Shikarpur, Ghotki and Kashmore districts to provide modern facilities to the policemen. Reward money to the informers will also be given from the allocated funds during the ongoing operation against dacoits in the riverine areas. DIGs Sukkur and Larkana range will also be able to use the allocated funds.
In this regard, IG Sindh, Ghulam Nabi Memon, said that police action against dacoits in Katcha area is ongoing.
The IG claimed, incidents of kidnapping for ransom have decreased in Kashmore, Ghotki and Shikarpur. The police have rescued more than 15 hostages in the last three months the IG mentioned, adding, apart from this, more than 10 bandits have been killed in encounters.
He said police have changed the strategy in the riverine area. Barriers have been installed at the entry and exit routes of Katcha area. More than 100 police posts have been established and Rapid Response Force (RRF) officers and personnel have been deployed in the border areas of Sindh and Punjab, so that bandits cannot escape from one province to another after committing crimes.
The DIGs of two ranges of Sindh (Larkana, Sukkur) have been given the task to further improve the law and order situation in the districts and the SSPs of four districts (Sukhar, Ghotki, Kashmore and Shikarpur) have been given the task to crack down on riverine area.
Police are using modern weapons as well as drones during the operation against outlaws in Katcha area in Sindh. With which the police have achieved great success. Sindh Police has so far killed 10 robbers with the help of drones, besides the expert officers using drones have identified many hideouts of robbers and eliminated them.
